MY OH MY....Has it really been almost a year since I posted something to my blog? Well I will just have to fix that won't I?

This is where I bring my crafts to life and just some of my supplies. You can also see some of my machines I have been collecting.

There on the table is the last machine I was running through it passes to get ready for its new owner...I had a former teacher give me 4 machines that he was just gonna through away till my sister said I may want them...Threee I will find new homes for but I will be keeping the 1950 Singer.

Again some more supplies. I love the two sweater racks in the closet that I stack my yarn in...a whole lot better to see what colors I have and is easier to get to.

I made a resolution to do more crafts this year so I am hoping to post more of what I make...so stay tuned...

I am not even sure where I got this iris but I just LOVE it! I think it is the most beautiful one I have ever seen. I never even thought about it till my husband mentioned it but it has the coloring from our wedding. I swear I have to take a picture of it ever year it blooms for me!

I guess my kitty thinks he is a Christmas present...I think he was actually just wanting some sleep away from the dog :-)

And with awaking to about 6" of snow, when Riley went out to go potty he would come back with snowballs in his fur.

Ok Here is another contest to go check out. These are wonderfully made looms....I have 2 of them myself. On this conset they have made a new loom and it needs a name. I tried to add my coment but I would always get an error page, so I am having to go this route...anyhow what I think it should be calles is :The Super Loom" as in Superman & Supergirl and I actually think it could jump a building with a single bound.

I spent 3 hours this morning make up a new web page for just my ornaments I make from burnt out light bulbs. I was selling them to earn enought to buy a laptop which I had always wanted and since in June I was able to fullfill that wish...I need to set a new goal of what to buy! Over the last weekend my husband I went to visit family in Rufus, Oregon and on the way home I made arrangements to meet fellow knitter Stephanie in Hood River. When I called she was just heading out the door but agreed to come meet us in the Wal-Mart parking lot. She had said that her son had joked about "look for the tourist" well little did he know he had the right idea. We moved our car to be close to the front of the store, put up 2 chairs under a tree for shade and waited. We told people were were trying out for to become the new greeters. We had a nice visit (about 1 hour) despite the wind which actually did feel good after the heat of Rufus. I got to show her the purse I am making which she said was so much better in person than the pictures and to top it off I handed her a box, she opened and when she saw what it was...let out a squeal! That made my day!!!! I had brought her an Eeyore Lightbulb Ornament...which she had said was her favorite. Our meeting was the third person from the groups for both of us.

Back in January I posted that I was going to sell my ornaments to earn $$ for a laptop as I wanted one not needed it. Well WHOO HOO last night I was able to get one as the first order I got was for two of each of the ones I make (I have posted pix of 10 but I do now make 11), and then I restored a computer for a neighbor...I was abl be to hang onto the $$ which was a big feat for me and then hubby did some overtime. I am SOOOOOOO excited!!!!!!!!!! I bet you couldn't tell. I can now stop the internet search for one and get back to crafting and genealogy research.

WOW I have been at blogger for one whole year now and have I ever had fun. I guess I should have celibrated in a more fun way but alas it will have to be in just telling all of you who come see me here :-) I have been trying to pull myself in three diffent directions lately: 1) being on the computer way too much as I have finally gotten high speed internet for about 3 weeks now and been having a ball visiting all the sites I had wanted to see but to painful on dail-up; 2) trying to do more knitting on the looms and my next attempt is a pair of gloves; and 3) trying to gather up pictured and post of the different ornaments I paint out of dead light-bulbs. I am hopeing to earn enough to buy me a laptop...not too fancy of one but still portable. So I hope to get that posting up SOON! Thanks all for visiting and check back later.

Every year I make an ornament for my girlfriend and she sends me one (this year she did make one) but the one I make is out of an old lightbulb...I am making one and will post pix of it when done but then I found a cool one online that I had to tweak just a bit. SIAMESE Kitty Quilt

Well I finally got around to making the Siamese Kitty quilt. I had been stock piling the colors of materials for a while and I like how it turned out. I made this for a special friend who likes and has Siamese kitties for real. I hope she likes it. Now that it is done I can get back to knitting and I need to as I have a "Midge" scarf to make for a scarf swap I joined.

candy corn bag

A few days ago I started this candy corn bag but I finally got one panel done but now I have to make another one for the other side. I am going to line it with some candy corn material that I actually already had and turn it into a cute purse.

I have not been doing many crafts with repainting my kitchen, laying laminate flooring. I did get me the neatest cat at of all places a yard sale. His is about two years old, pinkish in color(the research I found calls them beige tabby and I always called the color navy bean...since it is the light pink color of the beans) and he has 6 toes on each foot. They named him Lincoln but I did not like that. I told him he has feet the size of cougars and so that is how PUMA got his name. Here are a couple pix of him including his "Cat-scan"!

Can you believe that you can actually loom using beads? I really like these very much but it takes a while to sting the beads and then I have not perfected the tie off. The first one I made for my love of ladybugs and the secone is sort of a mother's bracelet...sapose to stand for Topaz and opal for the parents and the larger bead is the child, a pearl.

Baby sunflower bonnet

This is a baby bonnet I made and not having anyone to fit it I gave it to my neighbor's newest granddaughter. I just thought it was the cutest thing and was easy.

I also had no one to model it for me so I used a fence post and my dog...isn't he cute!

Felted Rose

I had never felted anything
(on purpose). This is really
easy to do and all I have left
to do is the leaves but have
to wait a few days to get to
town. What you will need to
do is make a row of triangles
and then turn to make the rose.

WOW can you believe it...I am posting two projects in one day! I laid an egg like the ones from this site...http://loomlady.blogspot.com/ Check them out she is great at making grest little projects.

And I couldn't stand it I had to make a few more. This is just a start as I plan to make a whole bowl full. #1 has bells, #2 styrofoam, #3 has unpoped popcorn and is my fave sound.

PLAID SCARF

This is soooo cool that using the purple loom and Red Heart's Kids yarn "Dream Girl" #2955 and doing the stitch that came with the loom, it actually plaid all by its self. Isn't that cool?

I just love this and am going to give it to my mom for Mother's day.

Yummy Cupcake

Another crafty knitter came up with the design and I had to try it for a friend's birthday. I did have a bit of trouble and had to contact the designer but I got it done finally. A day late but done! I also tried my hand at making the flower loom but had the wrong dimentions and ended up buying the real one to finish the cupcake. Here is my version:

My Reversible Hat

This is an attempt at an idea I have had for some time...to make a reversible hat. I used the long yellow loom and e-wrapped 45 rows of orange then tied on black and did another 45 rows. I pulled the end of the orange up through the gap of the loom to hook the last stitches onto the pegs (there does not leave much room). I then threaded the needle and removed the hat.

It was also a bit hard to pull the hole in the top closed and there is still about a 1" gap as having two thickness of knitting. If I were to do this again...I would use the yellow round loom as with the long loom the stitches are tighter and this would probably fit a child better. I can get it on but is super tight it feels like it is my skin :-)

I like the black with orange cuff the best.

This is a Kitty Rag quilt I made for my best friend. It was the first one I did but then I made another and gave to my sister. I think I finally have enough material gathered to make one more but this one is going to be made with beige and dark browns to resemble a Siamese.

I have made other things but I guess these are the things I am most proud of.

start a magic scarf...finally AND IS FINISHED!

I have finally started a magic scarf. I decided to try it on the green long loom instead of the yellow round loom. The yellow is a nice golden that I got in a yarn exchange and then got the black at Michael's. I thought with this golden color it would look pretty done up as a Pittsburgh Steelers scarf even though they are not my fave team...but I do come from the area of Troy Polamalu so maybe I am doing it in his tribute :-) When I get done with the black I have another Yellow to go.

Here is part two of adding the black but looks like it is going to take 4 skeins instead of 3. I am really liking how it is turning out and is SOOOO soft. I was just going to make this up since I had the yellow but the further along I get, the more I love it. But not sure if I want to have a long black in the middle or stay with the yellow -black but then the ends would be different colors. I have to go to town to get more black so I have a few days to decide.

Here is the third instalment of my magic scarf. As you can see I went with a 2 row separation but wish I would have done a 4 row but with this being all the yellow I had I didn't think I could squeeze out any more without noticing. I do LOVE how it is coming along though.

OK, I got it done and here it is in the FAT version (before washing). I didn't get the colors exactly the same length which means I didn't count the rows :-) I just used all the yellow and then went to the black but then I made the small yellow patch and so that used some up.

Here it is after i washed it and in it's skinny form.

I promise to count my rows on the next one. I also will be using a smaller loom. I really life the way it stitched and the feel of the new long loom.

Christmas Ornaments

For about 8+ years my girlfriend and I have been exchanging Christmas ornaments. About the second year into the exchange I found about painting "dead" lightbulbs. This is the one I did for 2006. I have done others like: Santa, Reindeer, Angel, Grinch, Snowman, Cow, Rabbit, Elf. I think there might be one or two I am forgetting but will have to hunt down the pictures to post them all.

These I did for 2005. Most of the ones I do are from a pattern or have a picture to go by but these I made up all myself :-)

I think this is about all I have done. I think most people like the grinch best but my fave is the reindeer.

Doggy Sweater on Red Loom

Welcome as this is the first of my postings to this site. I was using another blog site (http://360.yahoo.com/keggy99) but I am going to start using this one to post my knitting and happenings.

I knitted up another sweater for a doggy but this one is a bit bigger. I made it for my Brother and Sister-In-Law little dog but now I have to wait for them to visit to see if it will fit...I hope so.
I wrote down the directions as I made it and will post it soon.

Modeling this sweater is the neighbors little pup who is about 7 months old...she sure likes these sweaters.
